Depression, Miracles & Medication1 min read

I battled with depression for some years.

At some point, I contemplated taking my life.

The only thing that held me back from taking any active steps to achieve it was the certainty that I was not going to end up on the good side of eternity with God if I did it.

My fight with depression lasted till some time during my undergraduate.

Then I experienced a miracle.
While reading my Bible, God sent a scripture my way that was my salvation.

The text “Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine,” ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭19:5‬ ‭

The word that hit in that text was “treasured possession”.

It removed the cloud of depression. More than 2 decades later, I remain healed from it.

Despite my miracle experience, I don’t ignore the healing that comes from medical science.

I know some people rely on medication and therapy to win their battles every day.

God is the source of all healing. He gives the knowledge to develop medication.

“The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is a wonderful teacher, and he gives the farmer great wisdom.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭28:29‬ ‭

The miraculous healing of Hezekiah came from a remedy prescribed by Isaiah.

“Then Isaiah said, “Make an ointment from figs.” So Hezekiah’s servants spread the ointment over the boil, and Hezekiah recovered!” 2 Kings‬ ‭20:7‬

Over time, I have learned to look to God for healing and be open to any means He provides.

It could be a miracle or a medication.

God continues to take all glory.

Because He is the source of everything.
