I bet you have heard the phrase – Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. It seems to come with a promise of so much to look forward to and a whole lot more to enjoy in the moment.

If you are like most people, you have probably spent most of the year trying to make the best for you and your family. You have dreams and goals that you trotted the days, weeks and months towards.  And that is great.

So, Christmas offers itself as the season to refresh and reconnect with some of the things that matter. Most families have their tradition – gift exchange, relatives traveling for the annual reunion or just an excuse for another party. In the middle of all these, perhaps I can add something more to the whole memory of Christmas.

Even if everyone else forgets, we need to remind ourselves that Christmas is about Christ been born into the world. Born into the world not to remain as the baby in the manger but as the Lord of Heaven who would give His life for us when Easter comes knocking at the door.

The Christmas celebrations is another reason for us to remember that God was born to live for something more than Himself – the redemption of His creation.

I bet that is the example we should aim to live by every day of the year. But I guess this Christmas might just be a great time for you to start.

Personally, I think we should be more excited about Christmas than the world out there. They think it’s just a holiday to party and be merry. We know it’s another season to remember everything our savior stood for and live it out for them to see.

Choose to be more generous, choose to show them more of the Christian joy they hear you talk about. Yep, it’s the season but it’s YOUR SEASON
